US inflation increased by the highest amount in 40 years 😱, with general price of good rising by 7.5% in the past year. Resulting in an extra $276 per month cost increase for American households.
Superbowl 🏈 Sunday today and well thanks or not to that ☝️, we’re seeing record high ticket prices with average prices at $9,496, while the cheapest tickets are going for $3,000+; and if you’re a brand looking to advertise at Superbowl, it’ll cost you a cool $7 million for a 30 second ad 😬, no wonder they made $435 million in advertising revenue for the 2021 edition!
Talking of advertising, Amazon’s 2021 advertising revenue crossed $30 billion, making it larger than YouTube’s $28.8 billion 😱. And also larger than ALL of Newspaper Advertising in the world ($29.5 billion) 🤷🤯
While McDonalds 🍔 is planning to open restaurants in the Metaverse! Might as well since producing food in the real world may not be sustainable, given rising inflation. 😅
But.. can Nuclear Fusion ⚛️ help us tame inflation?! The Joint European Torus (JET) fusion reactor in the UK produced 59 megajoules of energy in 5 seconds. While that’s only enough to boil 60 kettles of water, sustaining the energy production for 5 seconds is apparently a big big deal in Fusion land. We spend over $1.9 Trillion on energy⚡️, and if we can figure out how to produce vast amounts of energy with little resource use, we could control one of the largest “input” cost to inflation i.e. Energy. Economy: An economy is an area, or a region (for e.g. a country), where production and consumption of goods and services takes place.

Input Costs: Costs that go into producing something.
