Meet GPU chip maker and AI boom enabler Nvidia
Have you wondered just how this past year we’ve seen so many AI innovations boom.. well companies like NVIDIA played a critical role as enablers. You see, AI systems require massive amounts of “compute” power to be able to process equally massive information pools and calculations to be able to do what they do. e.g. generate text, images, video etc.
GPUs - Graphics Processing Units - are basically micro chips that are excellent at parallel processing huge amounts of such computations. And so.. makers of these chips are seeing a sudden surge. So much so that NVIDIA, a maker of such chips has grown in market cap from about $150 billion in early 2020 to nearly $2 Trillion today (2 Tn = 2,000 Bn 🤯).. thats >10x in just 4 years.
