Busy business this week 💼
You can now buy a McD 🍔 with bitcoin! In El Salvador 🇸🇻. McDonald’s and several other retailers began accepting Bitcoin as ‘legal tender’ after El Salvador declared it as a national currency 😱 alongside the US Dollar (it does not have it’s own currency). Bitcoin crashed 17% nevertheless.
All this while old school 🎅 countries crank up those taxes. The UK government 🇬🇧 went against it’s manifesto and decided upon a 2.5% = £12 billion tax increase to help the ailing National Health Service recover from massive backlogs.
And some give taxes back 😱! The Indian government decided to roll back a controversial retrospective tax law introduced in 2012 and under which companies like Vodafone and Cairn Energy were asked to pay billions in taxes. With that law being scrapped they will no longer be required to do so.
While some have been forced to roll back a somewhat-tax. Apple, the company that is clearly not a country, but probably makes more money than some (at $275 billion in revenue it makes more money than GDP of countries like Finland, Portugal, Bangladesh 😱), was asked to provide developers and app makers the choice to integrate ANY payment gateway of their choice, than using Apple’s systems and paying the infamous 30% ‘apple tax’.
And if this were a tax we’d happily pay 😆 >> When Man United confirmed that Ronaldo will wear No 7 (his erstwhile ManU and Portugal 🇵🇹 jersey number), fans dashed to secure a replica. Unsurprisingly, it took just 4 hours for the daily sales record to be smashed into smithereens!!
Wait, what is..
Legal Tender: Any item (usually a form of money or currency 👇) that the government of a country says can be used to pay for things. 🤷
Currency: Refers to the type of Money used in a country.
Carbon Neutrality (useful later): Refers to the process by which we must ensure to remove as much carbon dioxide that we release in any process.

A fully recyclable car 😱 🤯 😱. Doesn’t get more carbon neutral than that?! BMW revealed the i Vision Circular concept car that it hopes to bring to market by 2040 and one it says will be 100% recyclable. 👏
While one will be run by your mind 🤯. Mercedes has created a functional “mind-reader” in it’s Vision AVTR concept car using a brain-computer interface 🧠<>🖥.
